Vegan talks with Ziya from Easy Vegan Good Life

Long time no see. I´ve been taking a small break from the blog, focusing a bit more on my Instagram and just taking some time off. Now I´m back though, hope you missed me as much as I missed you!

I wanted to tell you that I was recently featured on another blog, at Easy Vegan Good Life. It´s a great website for educating in and inspiring to the vegan lifestyle, run by a fabolous girl named Ziya. She interviewed me about my journey to veganism. Here are some of the things we talked about:

When did you go vegan and what made you go vegan?

I had started feeling bad about consuming animal products for quite a while before going vegan. I have always been very compassionate and love animals with all my heart, always protecting them and caring for them. However, it took many years for me to realize that I was actually consuming them. In May 2015 I stumbled over a vegan month challenge through one of the Swedish animal rights organizations. I decided overnight to try it, and I have never looked back since.

So from that moment onwards,  what was your transition strategy?

My strategy was to give it a month and see how it worked out for me. I was sure I would not be able to give up on certain foods, like cheese, but I really wanted to give it a serious try. Turns out I didn´t miss a thing, at least not enough to give up.

How long was your transition period?

I think my mental process started about two years before making the transition. It started with me not wanting to eat certain meats, only buying locally produced meat from small-scale farmers, and cutting down on meat in general. However, I never thought that going vegan…
